We decided we should check our tire pressures this morning. We both added air to our front tires, maybe 3 or 4 pounds.
Travelling through Missouri on I-70 is not very exciting until you get to St. Louis. Then, watch out! Traffic, construction, which way do we go, did I miss my turn, Oh Look! the Arch!, where's the lines, am I on the right road, wait the sign said 64 ALL LANES but the road splits into two different directions, Whew! we're across the bridge. Was it the right bridge? I know we're now in Illinois somewhere, time for a break.....
We stayed on I-64 East until we reached Mt Vernon, IL where we turned South on I-57 towards Nashville. Several miles down the road we split off onto I-24 South headed for Paducah, KY. We made a stop at the Kentucky welcome center for a butt break where we met an old biker on an 03 Road Star. He was proud of his 16,000 miles on the bike until we told him that we had already done 9000 miles since July 1st.
It was early yet so we decided to do an extra 50 miles or so in Kentucky. We turned South and rode through the Land Between the Lakes on route 453 to Rt 68 East into Cadiz, KY. The Super 8 there was hosting a large contingient of Bass fishermen so we took 2 rooms for the same price as one everywhere else. We had a good home cooked meal at the Cracker Barrel for dinner. Jon finally got the Turkey and Stuffing he missed out on at the Yukon Motel in Canada.
