Garage 04-21-2014

Brandon and I went down to the local supply house and set up an account for materials for the garage. After we got back I asked if he would give me some pointers on operating the backhoe. This way I can be involved in some of the trenching that we'll have to do for drains and water lines.

No pictures of me practicing, but a good shot of the results. Along the fence line was a row of old logs that had rotted. For backhoe practice I decided to see if I could clear them away without tearing the fence out. As the photo shows, the fence is still standing.

Later on in the day I wanted to get some more practice so I finished clearing a couple of small pieces that were left and then used the bucket to smooth away the debris. There was also a big pile of dirt that I'd been using to fill the ditches in the yard. I decided that for bucket practice I would move it to the left about 10 feet.

Playing with the tools on the tractor is a lot of fun and much better than just driving around the yard mowing.
