07/14/2014 - Eave and Corner Trim.

Today Leroy, Alston and I finished up the Eave Trim and fitted the 4 corner trim pieces. The back corners fit perfectly but the front corners were off just a little. One of the major ribs was farther away from the corner on both sides which causes the corner trim to bulge slightly. Unless you know ahead of time that the fit is just a little off you don't even notice it. At least it's the same on both sides. We will have to custom fit some drip trim over the top of those two corners, but we're getting pretty good at adapting stuff that don't fit so good. Par for the course.

We were done around 11 am so we moved the roof panels from the front yard around back where they are more accessable. We also moved the rest of the trim and the gutters around back to the deck. It doesn't look like such a construction zone from the street now. We start on the roof tomorrow. We'll have to be careful to get the first pieces up square and straight. It should go smoothly after that.

When we picked up the boxes full of trim Leroy found a nest of mice. The little guys were only about an inch and a half long. He said there were six or eight of them. We just moved them into the bushes and let them be.

When I was dropping off the second load of roof sheeting I had the LULL parallel to where they installed the new septic drain field. I guess the LULL is pretty heavy because two of the tires sunk about a foot deep. We'll have to be careful operating in that area from now on. I don't want to ruin my new septic drain field.
