7/30/2014 - Moving more stuff and start on driveway.

I hooked up the trailer and went over to the house in Keowee Key to get the furniture that my Sister Steph asked me to save for her. The weather was nice so it was a perfect day for an open trailer. Loading went easy and everything fit well. When I got back I backed the trailer into the new garage to keep it all out of the weather.

Soon after I got back the guys showed up with a skid steer to start peeling up and hauling off the driveway. Bobby got about 15 feet skimmed off and loaded when the skid steer blew a hydraulic line. We opened it up and found the offending line buried in a ton of dirt and pine needles behind the panel. We pulled what we thought was the offending line and of course it was the other one. Booby and his helper took off to get new lines. After spending $200 on the new lines we re-installed them and re-filled the hydraulic tank. Bobby got right back to work, we were hoping to have it all dug up before dark.

Bobby got another 20 feet dug up and another line burried deep inside popped. We figure that when it had been serviced the overpressure valve was set wrong or damaged and the high pressure was blowing the lines. They got the machine back on the trailer before it quit altogether and will be back in the morning with another one.

Somehow this problem amused me because it seems par for the course. So far the only thing that's gone right is the plumbing, but we haven't tried the transfer pump yet.
