8/19/2014 - More wall panels - moved some more dirt.

With Leroy and Brandon off doing work for another client today I was on my own as far as working on the garage. I started out by moving the shelves and table away from the west wall so I had room to work. I snapped the lines and cut the PT 2x4's for the bottom ledger boards. After drilling the holes I attached the ledgers to the floor with anchor bolts. Fortunately most of the panels were full sheets, so I didn't have to do much cutting. I did have to coerce a couple of sheets into place, but overall everything went smooth. I had to cut both panels for the corner by the freezer and considering I was working alone I think I did a pretty good job, got a nice tight corner. I also had to cut the panel for the area between the front door and the garage door track and remount the manual chain hoist bracket.

I went out around noon to run an errand to the bank and pick up some lunch. I decided to use the silver truck to get it out and make the tires round again. Upon my return I ate lunch and caught up on some e-mail. I was decidedly in need of a break so I took an long hour nap, I like naps!

After my siesta I decide to start moving the wood and panels that were stacked against the east wall. I got the dimensional lumber off the scrap pile and neatly stacked further back in the garage. I also got one stack of scrap steel panels (mostly cover sheets) away from where we need to install wall panels and moved some sheet goods further back as well. I'll wait for help moving the last stack of steel because it's all long heavy sheets that are very difficult to move by ones self.

Tomorrow we should be able to finish installing wall panels, get what's up painted white and maybe get a coat of the 'Knight Armor Gray' I chose for the welding walls.

We may also get the floor trim in the bathroom and Brandon will probably send me out for more trim pieces for the inside of the bathroom door.

I finally got the strike plate for the front door late this afternoon and it fit perfect. I didn't have to modify it at all! I still have to push the back door down slightly to get the deadbolt to seat. After I get the electric hooked up and a few more outlets installed, I'll be good to go. I still need to move the compressor to the garage and install the air lines, but I'm getting closer to my vision.
