After a great overnight at Jon's brother Paul's house, we headed out early again at around 7:15. It had POURED over night and it was overcast and gray when we left. Jon took the lead because he knew where he was going. About a mile into the ride he turned right (by accident) and we got a fantastic ferry ride across the river. Sometimes the detours are the most fun.
In Northern Indiana we rode through this HUGE wind farm. Wind mills as far as you could see in all directions. Just amazing.
After lunch just outside (west) of Chicago we got on a toll road to Rockford that was under construction. 45mph speed limit for 35 miles and they were charging full tolls. One was $3.00 each for the bikes. The signs said they won't be done till 2016. We won't be back this way.
