We started out at around 6:30 from Ida's Motel. The blackout curtains were a joke in that room. Enough light leaked in from around the perimeter you could read without lights on at 10:30 pm.
The roads for the first hour were horrendous and kept getting worse. We did some more mud, and some knee deep gravel, a cloud of dust so thick you could barely see the windshield. You name it, they threw it at us today.
The farther South and East we got the better the roads were.
We stopped at the Talbot Arms Motel for breakfast. You can see pictures of on Thursday the 11th's page.
Gorgeous scenery through the mountains and hills. We got to see some of the local fauna today. We saw 3 bears and a moose. The video is short and shows one of the bears and the moose.
We stopped in Whitehorse for lunch at McDonalds. This was our scheduled stopping point and it was only 12:30 so we decided to keep moving. We did another 115 miles and wound up at the Yukon Motel & Restaurant on Telris Lake. The rooms are OK, no A/C, but comfy enough for an overnight. They also have a big area for RV and tent camping out back.
Jon and thought that we were 3 days ahead
until we realized that I had neglected to plot routes for two days from
Ft. Nelson to Edmonton on the way home. If we hadn't picked up the
extra days we would be 2 days behind right now. We are currently 800
miles from Dawson Creek which is 370 miles to Edmonton.
