7/7/2014 - Finish back wall and door, start on front.
We got a good start today finishing up the back wall. We got the final roll of insulation in place, cut a panel to fit the door and buttoned up the back. It took about an hour to screw 3 rows of screws all along the back of the building.
We figured out where we wanted to put the front door and measured and cut the bottom floor girt for the frame. For some reason today my phone wouldn't stop ringing. I was dealing with my agent Alan who is working on selling Mom's house, Eddie from Premier, Roger from Tell Locks, more Alan, another call to Tell Locks, back to Eddie, JEEZ! In all of the hubub I either measured wrong or used old marks, but cut the middle girt where the door frame is off by 3 inches. After everyone had gone for the day, I re-measured and cut the extra off of the girt on the left side of the door. Maybe I can weld that 3 inches back onto the other side to make up the shortfall.
We got a half hour downpour so work stopped until it passed.
While Brandon, Leroy and I went over the plan details trying to figure out how all of the trim goes up, I had Audifaz and Alston clean up all of the scrap and get some of the wood out of the yard. Alston bagged up scrap pieces of insulation for the dump. We also took a lot of scrap cardboard pieces. I gave Leroy and Alston a ride home and we stopped by the dump on the way. Thanks for the help.
We spent the better part of an hour going over the plans because some of the trim goes under and some goes over. It'll make a big difference which when we start on the rest of the building. From now on we have to stop and think carefully about how each piece fits in.
