8/6/2014 - Driveway sealed, finished sheet rock, new lights.
Today we started by sealing the area of the driveway just outside the attached 2 car garage where cars will most likely be parked. Man that sealer stinks! From there Brandon and Leroy moved down to the French drain and set the 6" pipe at the end of the drain. A little Quickcrete to hold it in place will be covered with dirt eventually.
Moving into the building, Leroy finished installing the sheetrock on the ceiling in the bathroom. While Brandon worked on taping the screws and joints, Leroy and I worked on putting the OSB on the outside of the bathroom wall. At around Noon Brandon and Leroy left to take care of some other work and I was left to wait for the lights to be delivered and clean up a bit.
I decided to finish the OSB on the other outside bathroom wall. Two full sheets and a couple of strips and the bathroom is all sheeted and insulated. After that I broke out the broom and swept up, and swept up, and swept up. There is a LOT of floor to sweep in this garage. I gotta get me a better broom.
At around 2pm the truck arrived with the florescent lights. I backed my pickup up to the big truck and we just slid the pallet off into the bed. I backed up to the driveway (can't drive on it yet) and got the tractor out. I put the bucket up against the tailgate and slid the pallet into the bucket. I then used a ratchet strap around the lights and picked the pallet up and took it down to the garage.
I went to Lowe's to get the hooks and chains for hanging the lights and picked up the toilet for the bathroom. After I got back I used the scissor lift to hang 2 of the fixtures and plugged them into the boxes the electricians had installed the other day. Even with just the two fixtures the whole garage is lit up pretty well. Having 6 will really brighten thing up.
