8/18/2014 - Paint and Bathroom fixtures.
Over the weekend I installed several more wall panels on Staurday and Sunday installed the vanity and toilet.
We spent the morning trying out the new HVLP paint machine I bought. What a life saver. We sprayed the entire back and sides that had OSB installed with 3 coats of paint in a couple of hours. There were a couple of spots where the paint caused the OSB to delaminate but not a serious amount. The biggest problem was trying to keep the hose from dragging across the sheet of cardboard we used as a mask for the floor. We soaked it so bad it was starting to drip.
At lunch time Brandon and Leroy headed out to eat and I had some errands to run and more shopping to do. I bought every conceivable piece of P-trap plumbing I could find so I wouldn't have to run out again. I now have enough P-trap parts that I could build a P-trap all the way to the septic tank. Leroy managed to get the drain built for the vanity sink and we moved on to the Vanity light.
We measured to get the correct height over the mirror and centered on the vanity. Leroy cut the hole and found the Vent Stack was exactly where the box needed to go. At least the wire was where we expected it would be. Leroy got the box in the wall OK and the Vanity light went up without too many hassles.
The light got wired, the globes installed and bulbs screwed in and when we switched on the light, NOTHING. We tried each switch and the vanity light came on with the heater. It seems the electricians wired the fart fan wrong. Because we didn't have a vanity light, we assumed that the switches were in the wrong place. The first switch was turning on the heater and the 3rd was lighting the light. Leroy had swapped the switches so the first was the light and the 3rd was the heater. Turns out the Fart Fan was wired wrong and the switches were right. We just rewired the switches again, it was easier to get to.
